Nainmal Arya, the founder, embarked on his entrepreneurial journey at just 12 years old by opening a clothing store in Kurnool. His early experiences as an assistant in a prestigious clothing store in Hospet and later in Gangavati provided him with invaluable knowledge and skills. Inspired by a vision from Kalyana, a commercial hub in Karnataka, he decided to open his own store in Sindhanur.
In 1968, with an investment of about five Rs 5,000/-, he launched Kailash Vastralayam, aiming for a name that would resonate with the local culture. The unique blend of Sindhanur’s rich soil, the warmth of its people, and Nainmal Arya's integrity in business quickly turned his store into a customer favorite.
Over the years, Nainmal Arya focused on understanding customer expectations, delivering high-quality clothing while continually innovating. This dedication has fostered a growing reputation and an expanding customer base. Recognizing the need for skilled personnel to sustain the store’s legacy, he enlisted his son, Vedamitra Arya, as an assistant, even though he lacked prior business experience. Through four years of learning and building relationships with customers, Vedamitra developed the essential qualities needed for a transparent and successful business.

Today, Kailash Vastralayam stands strong after 54 years, with Vedamitra continuing the legacy without hesitation.

With a team of 20 employees, many of whom have been with the store for over 20 years, Kailash Vastralayam is a testament to stability and dedication.
